What Causes Herpes? Genital Herpes and Cold Sores are caused by a highly infectious virus. What kind of virus is that? Both types of Herpes are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus.

You might be freaking out if you've seen some Herpes symptoms on your genital area or on the genital area of your partner. Or you might be tired of getting those pesky "Cold Sores" especially before a big date or job interview.

What is a Herpes Virus and how does it cause Herpes?

There are two main types of Herpes Virus: Herpes Simplex and Herpes Zoster.

You can read a pretty complicated description on Wikipedia, but here's a simple description of what causes herpes in terms of a virus.

The Herpes Virus is passed through skin to skin contact. It is tiny. It works by attaching on to your cells, especially targeting nerve cells. You can see all the pointy spikes in the picture it uses to attach itself.

Once attached to the cell, it heads to the nerve nucleus where it hides. And the sad thing is, it hides there for the rest of your life. Waiting to be reactivated.

What Causes Oral Herpes and Cold Sores?

Cold Sores. Yes, cold sores are Herpes. The virus what causes cold sores is called Herpes Simplex 1 or HSV 1.

HSV 1 or cold sores is the most common form of Herpes around the world. Up to 80% of adults in the United States have this form of infection. Many have cold sore outbreaks on a regular basis, some every now and then, and some people have the virus but never have a cold sore outbreak.

While many people have HSV 1, which I've had for many years ... there doesn't seem to be a social stigma over it.

Cold sores are annoying. You shouldn't be kissing when you have an outbreak. The outbreak is caused when the virus is reactivated from stress and travels up the nerves. It breaks out through different stages and makes an ugly sore on the lips or around the mouth.

Genital Herpes is caused by Herpes Simplex Virus 2 or HSV 2. This virus once transmitted stays in the nerve cells at the base of the spine. It once reactivated (usually through STRESS) travels around the nerves in the pelvis to the genital area where it will shed or cause an outbreak.

These "genital herpes outbreaks" can occur with sores on the penis, sores around the vagina, blisters in the pubic hair, sores around the legs, or even on the lower back.

Once the virus is activated, it is highly contagious once it starts shedding or breaks out in blisters.

It can get downright depressing have Genital Herpes. Emotionally devastating for many people, especially women. It was for me.

What Causes Herpes Outbreaks and How to Avoid Them?

In other words, stressing out your body, mind, or emotions. You could in a stressful job, relationship, or environment. The Herpes Virus loves to react to stress.

Most of the times I get outbreaks it is clearly due to stress. When I smoked, which really stresses out the body, I used to get a lot of outbreaks. Since I quit smoking, outbreaks reduced dramatically. Also, limiting your alcohol consumption seems to help also.

So in general, getting healthy, especially following a HOLISTIC HEALTH PROTOCOL, will do wonders for limiting your Herpes Outbreaks.
